Rajnath Singh Approved the Abolition of 9304 posts in Military Engineering Services (MES)
The ministry of defence has made an announcement of abolishing 9304 posts of Military Engineering Services.
The total current vacancies in the Military Engineering Services were 1300 out of which 9304 has been abolished.
The Defense Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, has approved the proposal of Engineer-in-chief of Military Engineering Services for abolishment of these basic and Industrial workforce.
This decision is taken in line with the recommendations of the committee of experts, to enhance combat capabilities and to reduce the defense expenditure of Indian Armed Forces.
This recommendation was put forward by Lt. Gen. D.B. Shekatkar (Retd.) Committee. The main aim and objective of the committee was to make MES an effective organization with very liners workforce and we'll structured to stand firm and provide services even in this adverse Corona pandemic.
MES could be partly done by departmentally employed staff and other works could be outsourced, said by the press note.
